Loose-Lead Walking Foundations for Puppies

Loose-lead walking starts with reinforcement position and short, successful movement before long walks.

Practise in a quiet, safe setting before expecting reliable loose-lead walking in stimulating environments. Reward frequently while the lead is loose and the puppy is near you. Keep early sessions short. If pulling increases, reduce difficulty and reset rather than allowing long periods of pulling practice. Build distance and distraction gradually.
